Happy Birthday ~ Robot Style

I have young kids, which means they get invited to birthday parties...OFTEN!  I know it would be so much easier to run to the Dollar Store and pick up a stack of cards to have on hand but how much fun would that be???  I am always happy when I have a theme to work with...for the latest party, it was robots.

To be honest, I really didn't love how this card turned out, but my sweet daughter thought it was perfect for her friend ;)  I found the robot FREE robot printable sheet from Dabbles and Babbles here...as you can see, I am still working on my copic coloring skills lol! I added some glitter cardstock in orange, and it's hard to see but the purple hands on the girl robot and the pink heart are glittered up too :)

And the inside...

Tutu Cute Layout

Hey Polka Dot Peeps!  Have you visited the Scrap Our Stash Challenge Page?  For anyone needing a little motivation to use up your surplus supplies, this is a great way to do it!  You know I'm a mini-album fan, but lately I've been inspired to scrap 12 x 12 layouts using some oldies but goodies of my kiddos.  I'm playing along for the first time in their February SWAK Challenge using Washi tape, a Kraft embellishment, an arrow and Stitching.

Here's my layout of my lovely little fashionista wearing one of her first tutu's at 18 months; it's 3 1/2 years later and she still loves to rock a tutu!

Kraft Embellishment (Tag), Washi Tape and Arrow.  I also handcut the banner from one of the 6x6 papers ;)

Stitching
Supplies used:
My Mind's Eye: The Sweetest Thing 12 x 12 paper
My Mind's Eye Paper 6 x 6 Paper Pad: lucky me
Recollections embellishments
Pink Paislee: secret crush embellishments
American Crafts Thickers: grey lullaby and delight
Challenges:
Scrap Our Stash: SWAK
Paper Wings Productions: Anything Goes
Scrapping Everyday Miracles: Love is in the Air
Craftin Desert Divas: Color Challenge
Looking forward to the next challenge!  Thanks for stopping by.

Random Acts of Kindness for Valentine's Day ~ Embossing Challenge

Hey Blissful friends!  This week I am playing along with the Scraps of Color "Embossing" challenge.  I thought it would be fun to surprise a few of my friends and my Dad with one of these altered tins.  Yes, those are  yummy Hershey's nuggets all wrapped up in scrapbook paper...popped them in the mail yesterday and can't wait for them to arrive!  For more info on making these tins, see this earlier post here.

i
I used my Sizzix Big Kick and Darice Embossing Folders to create the backgrounds for the tags. So simple but the results are really pretty!

I haven't tried heat embossing yet but am looking forward to it!  What's your favorite embossing technique?

Thanks for stopping by!

Cherish ~ A Valentine Card for my Little Love!

I was so excited when I found this Simple Pleasures digital scrapbook kit last month from No Reimer Reason here, I have already used it for my daughter's birthday invitations and I knew this little cute little girl would add the right amount of sass to a Valentine's card for my baby girl! I linked my project up over at Craftin' Desert Divas Color Challenge Linky Party here.

These are the supplies I first pulled out; even included the packaging from some Pink Paislee embellishements that looks like notebook paper.  I printed the girlie onto cream cardstock and cut her out.

I switched up the embellies, the cupcake and sentiment flag just seemed to fit better than the flowers.  I love pulling together a lot of different supplies from different designers...it's almost like a challenge or a puzzle to find things that coordinate well together.  For this card, I used some My Mind's Eye 6 x 6 'Love Me' papers, some discontinued Jolee's cupcake stickers, the photo frame from Pink Paislee, a Recollections sticker and left-over packaging from Pink Paislee.
Do you mix and match from your stash or use kits?

Sock it To Me for Valentine's!

Valentine's Day is almost here!  Are you making some sweet treats for your loves?  You know I love making gifts for the kids teachers, as a little thank you for the amazing job they do...this year I altered some 2 1/2 x 8 inch notepads and pens with a love theme...

I think digi stamps are becoming one of my favorite materials to work with, and I am having a lot of fun working on my coloring skills using Copic Sketch markers...I think they are getting better each time.  These adorable sock monkey stamps are from Whimsiedoodles here.  I love that she has a variety of stamps and sets that come up matching sentiments, like this "Sock it to me" one...super cute!

To cover the pads, I used a My Mind's Eye "Love Me" 6 x 6 paper pad and red and blue cardstock.  I was able to use up some ribbon and twine stash, left over from Christmas.  But, I needed some more ribbon and just didn't have what I wanted.  Instead of going to the store, I created my own!  I've seen lots of hand-stamped ribbon, so I gave it a whirl.  I  stamped red hearts with Tim Holt distress ink in Fired Brick onto this canvas ribbon for a great coordinating ribbon.  Do you make your own embellishments?

Happy Valentine crafting and thanks for stopping by!
